Colleen graduates from College and is accepted at the Womens Medical College of Pennsylvania. Andrew hates the idea of Colleen going all the way to Philadelphia for a long time, so he asks her to marry him. Jake wants to sell his share of the Golden Nugget. Preston gets word that the Stockmarket has crashed.

2003’s Mona Lisa Smile tells the story of Katherine Ann Watson (played by Julia Roberts), a feminist teacher who studied at UCLA graduate school who leaves her boyfriend behind in Los Angeles, to teach at Wellesley College, a conservative women’s private liberal arts college in Massachusetts, In 1953. Watson encourages her students to study to become career professionals. She uses modern art to suggest that they need not conform to female stereotype, even introducing the students to the work of Jackson Pollock. Phillip Brainard, who is a professor at a college and a small time worker in his own basement, is trying to create a great invention. Unfortunately he always failed to invent something, but he is so obsessed about it that he even puts off his own wedding to his fiancée, Sara. One day, he finally invents something that works, this substance can cause even the heaviest things to bounce in the air, ‘flying rubber’, but Brainard called it “Flubber”. However, he sees Sara going out with another professor from another college and several criminals trying to rob him. So, Brainard has to find out a way to defeat the criminals and to get back his Fiancee. Hopefully, Flubber can help him. Another genius comedy with Robin williams !

“Circle of Friends”, set in 1950’s Ireland, centers around Benny and Eve as they enter student life at University College, Dublin. Here Benny and Eve re-unite with their childhood friend Nan Mahon, the ‘college belle’. They also encounter the handsome and charming Jack Foley, whom Benny quickly falls for. This movie is one my old favorites, and Minnie Driver’s film debut performance in this film is phenomenal. Check out the book by Maeve Binchy; though I have not read the original source, I heard that it is very well-written and less fairytale-like than this one. The DVD of “Circle of Friends” has a widescreen-ish format so if you want to watch the film in better quality, buy the DVD. Otherwise, I hope you enjoyed watching this on YouTube!

Goofs: When Toula decides to sit at the table full of blondes at college, she places her brown bag lunch on the table then sits down. In the next shot, she picks up her lunch bag and sets it on the table in front of her again before opening it. In the travel agency, Toula is on the phone telling a customer that their reservation is PNR. That is incorrect travel agent lingo – a PNR *is* the reservation itself (it stands for Passenger Name record) – she should have said your seats are confirmed. When Toula sees Ian at the travel agency for the first time, a grey-haired man wearing a blue windbreaker is reflected in the window. Trivia: The Harry S. Truman College is actually the Rogers Communications building where most media oriented classes are held at Ryerson University in Toronto, Canada. Nia Vardalos is a Ryerson University graduate. The university was used for several scenes in the film.
