Students take to the streets in UMD College Park following a harrowing basketball victory over Duke 79-72. 27 people are arrested, 16 of which are reported to be students. Some are beaten, others are assaulted with pepper spray. The police make several passes up and down knox road and route 1 in full riot gear before things start to settle down around two-fifteen in the morning. “If you bring out the riot gear before people riot, you’re telling people they should be rioting…”
